ABSTRACT: Acne vulgaris is ranked as the 8th most common condition worldwide, with an estimated prevalence of 9.4% globally. It affects individuals of most ages, however, the prevalence shows a significant peak in adolescence. It is considered a multifactorial chronic inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit, involving genetic factors, hormonal imbalance, increased sebum production, abnormal keratinization and bacterial proliferation. And while dietary factors were considered unimportant, evidence supports the role of nutrition as a predisposing factor in acne outbreak. The present study aims to conduct an integrative review exploring the association between acne, dairy intake (milk, yogurt, cheese), dairy subgroups (total fat, low-fat, skim) and the use of whey protein as a dietary supplement. protein supplementation. It was decided to carry out an integrative literature review that addressed the following research question: “What is the influence of dairy products and protein supplementation in patients diagnosed with acne?”. The literature search was conducted at the Medical Publisher (PUBMED), Science Direct and the Scientific Electronic Library (SCIELO). It was found that there is evidence demonstrating the correlation of milk, its derivatives and milk proteins "whey protein" in the occurrence of acne vulgaris, being greater in males. The results of this research point to a significant correlation between the influence of dairy products and protein supplementation in the manifestation of acne, showing a higher incidence in individuals who use Whey Protein, consumption that is popularized today and disseminated in the younger population, which seeks to gain body mass, not knowing the cons of using this type of substance.
